This is a cake we call it Madeira Cake.
It bake with flour, sugar, eggs, lemon zest and lemon juice.
This plain, golden and lemony loaf is a very classic and simplest cake.
Sometimes, simplest cakes are the best!
Of course this Madeira Cake is no exception.
Actually, an original recipe of Madeira Cake is in the 18th century or 19th century.
Madeira Cake often traditionally served with a glass of Madeira Wine in 19th century.
This is the reason that it hence its name - Madeira Cake.
Nowadays, we can served with a cup of tea, coffee or even liquors.
And it is still very delicious for served with tea, coffee or any other drinks by sure!

here are the RECIPE for Madeira Cake.
220g Butter(at room temperature)
120g Caster Sugar
3 large eggs
170g self-raising flour
30g plain flour
1 lemon (finely grated zest and juice)
Beat the butter and sugar together until it become creamy and pale, then beat in the eggs one at a time. follow by flour, sift the flour over the mixture then fold it in. The last step is lemon zest and lemon juice. Stir until mix well.
Pour the mixture into a prepared cake tin, smoothing the top with the back of the spoon. Sprinkle 1-2 tbsp of caster sugar on top of the mixture.
Bake it at 160⁰C for about 55minutes.
(or until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean)
*Should leave the cake cool in the tin about 15minutes before turn it out for cool completely.
